Each week we’ll make a different clay sculptures project using handbuilding techniques. Once our pieces are dried and fired, we’ll add color with glazes. We’re going to get messy, so wear play clothes and tie back long hair if you have it!

Calling all creative souls that are looking for a more open-ended class! Now 2 hours! This class will teach the basics of hand building while leaving projects intentionally open for your creativity to shine. Techniques that will be discussed this session are creating a sculpture, exploring folded slabs, and layering glazes on carved pieces. If you are prone to staying up late thinking on your projects or enjoy the pull of going in your own direction, this class is the one for you!With your class registration, you have access to the studio an additional two hours per week during Open Studio so the fun can continue (or so you can make up a missed class). Enjoy taking a pause mid week and doing something you love-come join the clay community at the Kish Center!

This eight week hand building class is a great way to pause mid week and do something for yourself! Students will explore a range of hand building techniques as they create a wall hanging, folded slab piece, explore layering glazes in a creative way, and explore working small with a miniature piece. Of course, if your creativity is taking your projects in another direction, create what your heart desires. With your class registration, you have access to the studio an additional two hours per week during Open Studio so the fun can continue (or so you can make up a missed class). A one-hour workshop focused on getting families to create together. Kids 5+ and their parents can sign up to create with clay at the Kish Center. All supplies will be provided with the registration fee.

Parents/Guardians must register and attend with any children under 14.
