This 8 week guided advanced course is designed for students that are looking to dive deeper in their ceramic knowledge. Wherever your creativity leads you, there is something for everyone in this class. Whether you want to create large-scale work, make a teapot, or try something you have never tried before, instructor-led demonstrations will explore these projects and more! Prior experience required. Aprons are highly recommended.

This is a welcoming, supportive space where everyone belongs, whether it’s your first time touching clay or you’re returning to the wheel. Come ready to get your hands dirty, embrace the learning process (failures included!), and discover the joy of creating something beautiful from start to finish. Wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy and all of your creative ideas!

This eight week hand building class is a great way to finish your week and do something for yourself! Students will explore a range of hand building though if your creativity is taking your projects in another direction create what your heart desires.

With your class registration, you have access to the studio an additional two hours per week during Open Studio so the fun can continue (or so you can make up a missed class). Enjoy your Friday mornings doing something you love-come join the clay community at the Kish Center!

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 2 payments of $66.66, paid every two weeks. Final payment of $66.68.

Altered and Inspired: Visual Journaling

Altered and Inspired is an 8 week class that invites adults to transform old books into one-of-a-kind works of art through mixed media and visual journaling techniques. Using collage, drawing, painting, cutting, layered textures, pop-ups, interactive pages, and found materials, students will explore creative storytelling and self expression while giving forgotten books a new life.

This class is a welcoming space to experiment, play, and express yourself while learning new artistic techniques in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether you love journaling, mixed media, paper arts, or simply want to spark your creativity, each session offers opportunities for personal expression and artistic discovery. No prior experience needed, just bring your imagination and a willingness to explore.

Supplies will be provided including the old book, but you are free to bring your own if you prefer! Scrap book papers, found objects, and ephermera will be provided but you may bring extras as well.

Handmade Holidays

Celebrate the season with eight weeks of creative crafting! Each week, we’ll explore a new project inspired by fall, harvest, Halloween, and the holidays, including a festive fall pumpkin out of a sweater, a Christmas gnome out of a mop and more. Create handmade décor, thoughtful gifts for friends and family, or something special to keep for yourself. No previous experience is needed—just come ready to create and enjoy some holiday crafting!

Supplies will be provided, optional specialty materials will be announced a week in advanced and may be brought if desired.

Saturday Morning Wheel 9:30

Start your weekend with clay! This laid-back Saturday morning ceramics class is perfect for beginners and intermediate students who want to get their hands dirty in a fun, low-pressure environment. We’ll spend most of our time on the pottery wheel, learning the basics of throwing, trimming, and shaping forms. Along the way, we’ll also explore hand building techniques to add details, experiment with new ideas, and personalize your work. Come ready to learn, relax, and enjoy a creative morning in the studio.
