Art Charcuterie

Do you want to get into art, but aren’t sure where to start? Don’t really want to get supplies without knowing if you’ll like a new medium? This is your chance to try before you buy! Each week we’ll make a project using different materials and different techniques, so that you can get a feel for what you enjoy most. Options include acrylics, abstract pouring, watercolors, dry pastels, polymer clay, resin casting, and block printing. (Class interest will determine the specific mediums and projects that we do.) All supplies are included!

This eight week hand building class is a great way to spend your Friday mornings! Students will explore open ended projects that focus on artistic techniques. We will combine under glaze and glaze for creative layered effects, use wax resist artistically, and create a functional piece such as a lamp or cake plate. Of course, if your creativity is taking your projects in another direction, create what your heart desires. With your class registration, you have access to the studio an additional two hours per week during Open Studio so the fun can continue (or so you can make up a missed class). Enjoy your Friday mornings doing something you love-come join the clay community at the Kish Center!

In this fun and dynamic class, young artists will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic mediums. From painting and crafting to sculpture and mixed media, children will engage their imaginations and express themselves through a variety of art forms. Each week offers a fresh, exciting artistic adventure. It’s the perfect space for kids to discover their unique creative voice and have fun in the process!

Drawing Basics

If you’ve always wanted to learn to draw, but aren’t sure where to start, this class is for you! We’ll cover basic perspective, value (shading), people and animals, and how to get your eyes and hands working together. Supplies included.

Fun with Clay

Fabulous Felting
with Allison Frink

Needle felting lets you make amazing flat objects and sculptures by stabbing loose wool with a special needle. We’ll make a different project each week, so you’ll go home with lots of fiber art to keep or share, including some fun gift items for the holiday season. This session has new projects, so returning students are welcome. (Warning: Felting needles are sharp! We’ll be careful, but you’ll probably poke yourself at least once.) Supplies are included.
