This 8 week guided advanced course is designed for students that are looking to dive deeper in their ceramic knowledge. Wherever your creativity leads you, there is something for everyone in this class. Whether you want to create large-scale work, make a teapot, or try something you have never tried before, instructor-led demonstrations will explore these projects and more! Prior experience required. Aprons are highly recommended.

Wheel-y fun is a 8 week class that will teach you the basics of pottery including centering the clay, opening, pulling up walls, trimming, firing, and glazing.

Celebrate the season’s passage in watercolor, moving from the vibrant colors of October to the serene stillness of December. Together we’ll paint landscapes rich with autumn foliage, frost-tipped fields, and snowy woods, learning techniques that capture mood and atmosphere along the way. As the holidays draw near, we’ll add a festive touch—glowing winter nights, pine trees in snow, or cozy village scenes—that can be framed, gifted, or shared as cards.

This course blends skill-building with the spirit of the season, leaving you with a collection of landscapes that reflect both nature’s beauty and the warmth of the holidays.

In this supportive drawing class, you'll learn to sketch what you see and what you imagine. We'll explore the basics of line, shading, and form using pencil and charcoal—and you'll even learn the grid method to create drawings that look incredibly real (no tracing needed!). This is a class for people who think they can't draw. You'll leave feeling like an artist. If you are more experienced, we will challenge and encourage you to explore new horizons in technique and approach. This course gently guides students from sketchbook anxiety to artistic self-assurance. Through life drawing, figurative illustration, imaginative exploration, and structured photo reference work, students will learn to draw with joy, accuracy, and style. Calling all creative souls that are looking for a more open ended class! Now 2 hours! This class will teach the basics of hand building while leaving projects intentionally open for your creativity to shine. If you are prone to staying up late thinking on your projects or enjoy the pull of going in your own direction, this class is the one for you!

There will be no class November 26th

In this class, we will take and in-depth look at the font Copperplate, which was popular in the early 1900’s. This classic form of lettering brings an unlimited amount of possibility and beauty to writing. We will use both pencil and pointed pen with dip ink. Students will practice the classic letter forms and learn basics of pointed pen. The book, Copperplate Calligraphy Practice Book, by Christen Allocco Turney, is the textbook for this class and is a requirement. We will be using this book in each class (see supply list in class resourses .) You'll be able to take your "scribe skills" and apply them to cards, envelopes, gift tags, letter writing, and so much more! Six, 90-minute sessions will be included in this introductory course.

Learn to paint landscapes in watercolor! We’ll discuss different techniques and approaches for natural features – like foliage, water, rocks, and distance -- plus basic perspective for including buildings in your work. For most projects we’ll work from reference photos, and on days with good weather we might paint outdoors. Students are encouraged to keep their supply kit lightweight and fast to set up. Zero experience, some experience, and intermediate experience levels are all welcome!

Recommended Art Supplies:

a small block of watercolor paper

- cold-press paper is a good choice if you want to focus on painting

- hot-press paper is a good choice if you want to draw with ink and then paint

- smaller sizes like 5”x7”or 8”x10” are best for painting fast

a pigment ink pen

- single-width 0.5 (or larger) - Sakura Pigma Micron or Faber-Castell Pitt Pens are good choices

a small watercolor set 

- pans are easier to transport, but tubs offer more options

Watercolor Brushes

- a reservoir brush with water in the handle is really convenient - but regular short-handle watercolor brushes are also great!

a mechanical pencil

a paper towel (or an old washcloth)

Optional Art Supplies:

artist or painters’ tape

a binder clip (or bulldog clip)

a compact travel easel (if you like to work upright)

This class helps young artists improve their skills, try new techniques, and develop their creative voice. We’ll use both realistic and illustrative styles for a variety of class exercises. (All skill levels and interests are welcome! Whether you’re interested in photo-realistic drawings or making webcomics, I’m happy to fuel your creative journey.)
