We’ll learn two different classic macrame knots to make a holder for a small pot. This project has a lot of repetition, but moves at a nice pace.

Beginner Tapestry Weaving Workshop

Come hang out, get creative, and learn the basics of tapestry weaving! I’ll walk you through how to use a loom and teach you a few simple weaving techniques while we experiment with sustainable and unconventional materials. We might weave with yarn, plastic, scraps, found materials, or anything else that sparks your imagination.

No experience needed—just bring yourself and a willingness to play, experiment, and get a little weird with weaving!

Supplies will be provided, but if you'd like to bring any fabric materials feel free!

Learn how to knit!

This workshop will cover the basics of casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and binding off. The workshop will be taught in Continental style, so it is great for both those who have never touched knitting needles AND those who already know English style (yarn in the right hand), and want to learn Continental (yarn in the left hand). A set of needles and a skein of wool yarn will be provided for each participant. You will also get a pattern that you can use after the workshop to practice these basics and add a few other skills.

We will also focus on how to enhance the surfaces of your ceramic vessels by layering decorative techniques such as water etching, wax resist, Mishima, sgraffito, carving, stamping, underglaze painting, and layering glazes. This is a beginner-friendly course that teaches technical skills for wheel-throwers of all abilities. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a seasoned pro on the wheel, you’re sure to walk away from this course with a new skill related to the art of wheel throwing and ceramic surface decoration!

In this 6 week class, participants will take all of their Fundamental Improv knowledge, and apply it to a narrative! This class will teach you how to "yes, and..." your way through the beginning, middle, and end of a story structure, using improv on the spot.

To get the most out of this class, it is recommended that you have taken Fundamentals of Improv or have previous improv experience.

This class ends with a graduation show, date and time TBD.

Using the tools of improv, instructor Joe Lemmo along with WIT (Woodstock Arts Improv Troupe), are offering a workshop for adults of all neurotypes to gain confidence, build regulation skills, enhance creativity, reduce anxiety, and improve communication skills. In each workshop, the instructor and troupe members will guide students through improv games and exercises in a supportive, low-pressure environment where they are encouraged to try new things, brush off mistakes, and make discoveries. 

This workshop is open to all skill levels and recommended for individuals who are comfortable and/or interested working with all neurodiversities and providing a supportive environment for everyone! 

Learn the tools every actor uses to create memorable characters and build a great story! In this class, students will work together to learn how to use their bodies, voices, and imaginations in order to inhabit different characters, make bold choices, and build a strong ensemble on stage. Students will also collaborate to create their own script bursting with creativity and ideas from their own imaginations!

Students will showcase selections of their classwork as a part of our Collage Day on Saturday, November 21st. 2 tickets to this event are included in class registration.

This class is part of our Acting Pathway, which develops theatre skills through acting techniques, storytelling, and collaboration. In Junior Drama Club, students will focus on scene work and ensemble building.
